£600 has been donated to the Shine together charity at Southmead and Frenchay hospitals by Royal Navy officers based at Abbey Wood in Bristol.

The money was raised by collections over the past year by the officers. A cheque was presented to Ruth Brunt, Chief Executive of North Bristol NHS Trust by Paul Evans, Lieutenant RN and Tom Ivory, Lieutenant RN.

Shine together's Head of Fundraising Trevor Reid said, "We are incredibly grateful for the support of everyone based at Abbey Wood. This donation will help us provide additional care and equipment for patients at Frenchay and Southmead hospitals. It will make a big difference to the local people we help and we are truly grateful for all the efforts to raise these funds."
