The charity at Southmead hospital Shine together and Bristol conference and event management firm Sounds Commercial are linking up to make sure patients at the hospital do not miss out on seeing Friday’s Royal Wedding.

Due to building work taking place at the hospital this weekend, some urology patients are being moved to a ward where there is no television access. Staff contacted the charity to see if they could help.

Trevor Reid, Head of Fundraising said, “When we found out that some of our patients might miss out on seeing the Royal Wedding we pledged to do all we could to help. We were delighted when staff at Sounds Commercial came to our rescue.”

The company is loaning large state of the art plasma TVs to the wards, so that patients will be able to see the proceedings and share in the celebrations.

Sounds Commercial Operations Director Sarah Ross said, “We have a long working relationship with the Urology department and the charity at Southmead so we were only too delighted to be able to help the patients celebrate on the day and see all of the Royal Wedding.”

Trevor added, “We are so grateful for the support of Sounds Commercial. Their support means that our patients won’t be missing out on the big day and it will help create a real celebratory atmosphere for the staff and patients. It’s wonderful that the staff at Sounds Commercial are being so generous for such a special day.”
