We aim to raise £165,000 to set up a human milk bank at Southmead Hospital for special care babies and keep it running and equipped. Banked breast milk will benefit some of the most vulnerable special care babies.
Currently, when milk is urgently required, it has to be sent from hospitals in either Oxford or Southampton at great expense. The new Bristol Milk Bank will supply donor breast milk to babies in Bristol’s Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Southmead and St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.
Every week we see vulnerable babies in Bristol who urgently need this help and would benefit greatly from a specialised milk bank. With your support, this appeal will change the lives of babies and families in Bristol.
