We have many Research funds on both sites offering research opportunities that will ultimately improve the care and services for our patients.

 

You can support a specific research fund or a general research appeal. You can even leave a legacy gift for research projects which will help future generations.

 

 

Rheumatology and Arthritis Research

Arthritis, bone and muscle diseases affect almost all of us at some point in our lives. Although these problems are commoner as we get older, people of any age - even children - can be affected.

 

The Rheumatology Service cares for many thousands of patients from North Bristol and surrounding areas. We are actively carrying out research helping us to understand more about conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. We also raise money to support Patient Self Help groups and provide extra care to help local patients cope with the pain and difficulties caused by their arthritis.

Shine Together is a Bristol charity supporting the work of Southmead and Frenchay Hospitals. We fundraise for wards and departments and use funds to provide enhanced care, new Hospital equipment and improved services. Shine Together is a leading Bristol Hospital Charity helping to support patients across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our Charity includes many specific funds for areas including neo-natal care for babies (NICU), Prostate Cancer Care and research, Multiple Sclerosis, Renal services and Maternity.
