Helping transform Southmead Hospital's Maternity Unit

The "Mum's the Word" appeal is raising funds to help redevelop the maternity unit at

Southmead hospital.  The maternity teams do a magnificent job in making sure that

today's Mums are as comfortable as possible. We want to ensure our facilities do the same.

A mosaic picture made up of hundreds of photos of babies born at Southmead Hospital has been unveiled.

An appeal was put out last year by the Shine Together charity based at Southmead Hospital, for photos of babies born at the Hospital and hundreds of people responded.

From Here to Maternity!

Nearly 100 mums, dads and babies took part in a four mile charity walk in support of Southmead hospital maternity unit.

The walk called ‘From Here to Maternity’ has raised over £2000 for the appeal, and saw participants walking from Bristol’s College Green to Southmead’s antenatal clinic.
 
The funds raised will go to the ‘Mum’s the word’ appeal helping redevelop the maternity unit at Southmead hospital. The plans include an expanded birthing suite, more consultation rooms for baby scans and a greater number of en-suite facilities for new mums.

		Our fantastic donor wall!   Make a donation and have your child's name on a hot air balloon on our five metre long donor wall.   The mural which shows balloons flying over Bristol is hung in the maternity unit.
